Tamika was born in Harlem New York in 1980. Tamika was first influenced by her home community. at a young age. Her parents were members of the Al Sharpton civil rights organization. When Tamika was 11 years old she joined the national action network because she wanted to solve issues that were going on making a change in the world. In 2011 she became the organizations youngest executives producer. when Tamika was 20 tragic event happened. Her son's father passed away by gun violence in 2001. This experience shook Tamika's life. In 2012 another mass shooting happened at the sandy hook elementary school that killed 20 students. Tamika tried to emphasize to create more solutions to gun violence. At the time Barak Obamas advisor said the Tamika was a leader of tomorrow and that motivated Tamika. today Tamika now continues to fight for more just to cure the gun violence in the world.
